ELIMS Named in Forbes NEXT 1000 List

When I launched Elims a few months ago, I made a secret promise to myself: to create a business with such a strong mission and big impact, that one day, I would make it into Forbes Magazine. And I gave myself 5 years to do make this happen.

Well, it happened in 2 months. I’m thrilled and stunned that in September, I was named in Forbes Next 1000 List! This is a unique Forbes list created to shine a light on entrepreneurs (the crazy ones) and small businesses, and judged by A-list minds (Alex Rodriguez, Ciara, Reid Hoffman, to name a few) and the Small Business team at Forbes (Maneet Ahuja, Elisabeth Brier, Samantha Todd) who hand picks every honoree. I have loved meeting and learning about everyone on this list, and it is reassuring to me that the American Dream is not dead.

To me personally, it’s awesome to get the recognition from almost two and a half years of hard work. But the thing I’m most proud about is that we were name in the social entrepreneurship category. This is how I know that our mission of putting people and planet first is working, even though we are still so early in our journey.

Aside from our collective health, there is no more urgent crisis than climate change. Even as I sit here writing this blog, I am look out of my office window at my car. On the black paint, I can see a blackish yellow coat of dust and ashes from the Caldor fire blowing from Northern California. Climate change is moving closer and closer to my own family, every year, and it’s truly terrifying to me.

So, my renewed promise is this: things don’t slow down or stop here. We have big goals for Elims and for the entire healthcare and cleantech industry. Recognition from the likes of Forbes or the Huffington Post is amazing, but it is just a mile marker on a very long and difficult marathon. It signals to me that we are on the right track and on the right pace to really make a difference.

Finally, thank everyone who has supported us through the years, especially our customers and advisers who believed in us to support us in so many ways.

Now I gotta get back to our mission!
