Celebrating Three Years of Elims Oral Care: A Journey of Smiles and Sustainability
It feels like just yesterday Dr. Casey and I embarked on our mission to rebuild the world of sustainable oral care. Today, as we celebrate Elims' 3rd birthday, we reflect on the wild journey we've had and look forward to a future filled with more innovations, smiles, and sustainable solutions.
The Beginning of a Brighter Smile
Three years ago, Elims was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: to provide dentist-crafted, sustainable oral care products that promote healthier smiles while caring for our planet. As founders, driven by our passion for better health and environmental responsibility, we set out to challenge the conventional oral care industry. As parents to three young kids, we couldn't believe how much plastic and waste that was created by oral care products, and believed that effective oral care shouldn't come at the cost of our environment. And with that vision, Elims was born.
Milestones and Achievements
Over the past three years, we've achieved unbelievable milestones that have shaped who we are today. Here's a look at some of the highlights:
1. Product Launches: From our flagship nano-hydroxyapatite toothpastes in sustainable packaging and innovative dissolving teeth whitening strips to our first sustainable toothbrush, we are really proud of the products that have stood the test of time! These products are still doing really well in the market, and we get reviews every day that show how much our customers love what we have created.
2. Sustainability Initiatives: Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We've implemented eco-friendly packaging, reduced plastic usage, and introduced free recycling programs - truly setting the bar high for oral care.
3. Eco-Partnerships and Collaborations: Year after year, we have continued to partner with non-profits like ClimeCo and the Carbon Fund to invest in reforestation efforts in North and South America - even on a startup budget! It's simply the right thing to do. These collaborations have helped us reach a wider audience and amplify our impact.
4. Giving Back: Last year, we committed to donating a tube of our toothpaste and we are STOKED that we have passed 11,000 tubes of toothpaste donated! As a dental and sustainability company, we are deeply committed to supporting those most affected by recent climate fluctuations, particularly individuals experiencing homelessness.
In July 2023, on our last birthday, we made a pledge: for every tube of our toothpaste purchased, we would donate one to someone experiencing homelessness. What began as a month-long initiative quickly extended to the end of the year, and now, we have exceeded 11,000 donations!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Giving Partners, such as Food on Foot, Union Rescue Mission, and Hope of the Valley, for their help in distributing our lavender vanilla mint toothpaste to those in need.
Note: Our Giving Partners gave us feedback that our lavender vanilla mint flavor is very soothing for this community, especially since many of them have advanced dental care needs.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Elims Oral Care
As we celebrate our third anniversary, we're more motivated than ever to continue our mission. The journey has just begun, and we have exciting plans for the future:
1. Innovative Product Development: We are constantly researching and developing new products that align with our values of sustainability and effectiveness. Expect more groundbreaking solutions that prioritize your oral health and the health of our planet.
2. Expanding Our Reach: We aim to make Elims Oral Care products accessible to more people around the world. Our goal is to expand our distribution and reach new markets, bringing sustainable oral care to every corner of the globe.
3. Community Engagement: Building a strong, engaged community is at the heart of our brand. We will continue to listen to our customers, educate on the importance of sustainable oral care, and foster a community that cares deeply about their health and the environment.
4. Sustainability Goals: Our commitment to sustainability is ongoing. We're setting ambitious goals to further reduce our environmental impact, including achieving carbon neutrality and increasing our use of renewable resources.
